New Video the 1st: HELO Documentary

The first video today is a ten min documentary I shot back in October featuring the Huddersfield Experimental Laptop Orchestra (HELO) at the Leeds Expo.  The documentary includes short interviews from the players about their chosen instruments and how they got involved with HELO.  Even if you're not into experimental music, you should find what these guys are doing quite interesting.

Production Note: After filming I handed the footage over to the staff and students from Hudds Uni who did all the editing.  They used a different editing style than I had in mind while shooting (and used a couple of clips I was never intending to be seen) but I like the raw feel it gives the piece.

If you are planning a perfomance, event or trip of some kind, filming it as a documentary can often show the feel of the day much better than the typical event filming style.  As you can see from the video above it also let's the viewer get to know the people involved and will identify with them more.

You can also document an entire process such as a clients experience dealing with you, an artist prepping and creating a piece to commission or just to show potential costumers the way you work.
